Common Questions About Taekwondo

Who is eligible to participate?
Anyone over the age of 4, and under the age of 100 years may participate.

Must I compete in tournaments?
No. Participation in tournaments is voluntary, and is usually enjoyed by people who enjoy competition.

What part does natural ability play?
Very little. Progress in Taekwondo depends on attendance in class and practice time at home. The many intricate moves are possible to master through regular study.

Why study Taekwondo?
Physical fitness, weight control, stress management, confidence, self-discipline, balance, control, and self-improvement are a few of the many benefits.

How long does it take to become a black belt?
The average person will achieve 1st Degree Black Belt in approximately 3 years with regular attendance.
